Basa Ottóné Révész Erzsébet the Art teacher of Kossuth Lajos Primary School was the initiator of the dream which began in 2005 with a teacher-student exhibition. She wanted to support the talented children and develope their artistic education. Her exhibition firstly was on behalf ofchildren and theirmothers and it „travelled” from the Ady Endre Library and Community Centre of Hatvan to the Saint Adalbert Churchalso in Hatvan. Later the exhibition was invited by the Hungarian Art Teachers’ Association to Budapest to the House of Hungarian Culture in Castle District. The title „From 60 points of view” remembrances ofthe 60th anniversary of Hatvan becomming a town. Csango-Hungarian children’s drawings also participated in this exhibition. So a journey was organised for them to Budapest and Hatvan and to many other places in Hungary. We can never forget their charming drawings and wonderful perfomance of Csango dances and songs.
The realisation of Erzsébet’s dream went on. In 2006 she sent out invitations in 9 languages with a motto „Collect a Flame from a Great United Fire”. The received pieces of artwere shown in Moldvay Győző Art Gallery in Hatvan in „Together in Love” First International Travelling Exhibition of the children’s drawings. A girl from Finland got the special award of the Lord Mayor of Hatvan. Apart from Hungary pieces of art were also sent from Transilvania (Romania), Poland, Germany, Serbia, Ukraina, Slovakia, Canada and Peru. Children from kindergarten to secondary school age and the citizens of Hatvan could enjoy watcing ofthe beautiful drawings.
In 2007 in the jubilee year of Saint Elisabeth the organisers got again lots of really wonderful pictures from different countries for the 2ndInternational Travelling Exhibition. Children’s drawings were displayed together with the adult artists’ pieces of art in the exhibition entitled „Miracle of Roses”. Dr Sven Ost the managing director of the BOSCH Electronic Ltd ordered some of the most beautiful children’s pictures and organised a permanent exhibition for his workplace. With the financial help of Érsek Zsolt the mayor of Hatvan some of the best pictures were also displayed in Óhatvani Óvoda és Általános Iskola and a 10-day trip to Sycily was presented to Basa Ottóné Révész Erzsébet and two of her students. Tóth Cintia a student from Bajza József Gimnázium és Szakközépiskola and Kevés Dorottya a 7th grade student from Óhatvani Óvoda és Általános Iskola represented our town in the „Miracle of Roses” exhibition in Terrasini where they got the special award of the Lord Mayor of Terrasini.
More than 1000 drawings from seven countries were sent to the „Hymn of Love” 3rdInternational Travelling Exhibition in 2008. Exhibitions which started in Hatvanwere also organised in the following towns: Galgahéviz, Kács, Szombathely, Budapest Erzsébetliget, Kőbánya, Óbuda, Esztergom, Eger, Kecskemét, Baja, Hetényegyháza, Kiskunhalas, Kiskunmajsa, Vác, Csongrád, Szolnok. They are travelling even now from town to town. „Hymn of Love” exhibition is invited to Rome and Finland in 2009 and to Budapest in 2011 to the World Conference of Art Teachers’.
The series of exhibitions was greeted by the pope Benedykt XVI. , Harrach Peter the vice president of the Hungarian Parliament and Oláh György Nobel prize winner chemist, too. Jókai Anna writer, holder ofKossuth- and Stephanus-awards has been the main patron of the exhibitions for many years. The generous case of exhibitions has been supported by Farkas Kálmánné honorary headteacher, Érsek Zsolt mayor of Hatvan, Fundation for Hatvan Town and many other citiziens. Children took home generous presents from the award ceremonies in Hatvan and a good reputation of the town which became a paradise of the children art.
